Today, I've decided to start blogging again after a very long absence. Trying to find some fabulous topic that would make my blog the next greatest of blogland is not my idea of fun. I've been thinking about subjects that I thought would be fun for me and interesting to potential readers. I have so many interests, but what should I blog about?
Gee, I've listed 20 things (and that's not all) of the things that interest me. Maybe, I'll just write about all of these things. Oh, that could make me a "Jill of all trades, master......." Oh well, more later.
- I love beautiful flowers and gardens but haven't actually worked at "keeping" flowers for years now because life just got in the way.
- I like watching the plethora of cooking shows on TV and collecting recipes to make "someday", but I really don't enjoy cooking as a daily routine. I always tell people that I can cook, but I don't like to cook.
- I love beautiful, elegant, well designed clothes (Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Ralph Laren, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, Calvn Klein, Donna Karan, and Salvatore Ferragamo are my favorites). Wouldn't it be wonderful if I could actually afford to wear these designers?
- I like simple jewelry with silver being my favorite, but I've been known to pick up an artistic piece here and there.
- I enjoy "looking" at beautiful shoes. Unfortunately, I don't enjoy wearing them because I have extremely narrow heels and only backless shoes fit me properly.
- I have always been in love with unconventional and whimsical teapots, but I am no expert on them.
- I find buttons extremely fascinating and fun to hold and to REALLY study their design. I have tons of them because I sold them in my retail store.
- I know how to crochet and I enjoy it, but it makes my left hand hurt when I do it for more than an hour. This is a result of crocheting everything that did not move when I was in college.
- I really like to see beautiful and artfully wrapped packages. Some people are so clever.
- Pottery and ceramics can be so beautiful and I wish I had paid more attention instead of giving up so easily during classes while in Girl Scouts.
- Organization! Love that word and all that it implies like finding everything immediately, having everything in its place, never feeling panic when I try to access something and everything comes tumbling down....... Nope, better not try to be an expert on that topic.
- Beautiful cakes just leave me awe struck. Watching the Cake Boss is so amazing. How do they get those whacky cakes to stay up and taste good. Oh, I forgot. Don't like to cook.
- I'm in heaven when I'm using my die cutter to cut out little paper dresses, tags and other paper stuff. I loved paper dolls as a little girl and this takes me back to that special place. Mmmm, maybe I could blog about this.
- Embroidery is so beautiful and I wish I could do it. Being left handed years BYT (Before YouTube), did not make this possible for me; but it's on my bucket list.
- Handmade dolls are sooo wonderful. I just love them. Let's see, I could interview my dollmaker friends. That could be fun. **Note to self.
- What about paper arts like books, greeting cards, beautiful handmade papers, paper flowers, collage, fancy tags? Maybe I need a BIT more practice before I tackle that.
- Beads, beautiful beads! Love 'em, love'em, love'em. Why not? I have some great beading friends to interview. I'll but a check by this one.
- Quilts!!! Now that is a passion. I have fabrics for quilting, patterns for quilting, notions for quilting, sewing machines for quilting, thread for quilting, videos for quilting. There's really everything for quilting. Shucks, I've never actually made a quilt. Maybe, I should start. Let me think on that one a little bit.
- Or should it be ribbons? I've met very few ribbons that I did not like. There's a lot to write about there because there are so many different styles.
- Knitting? Now, I really know about knitting after having a yarn store for 20 years. I can tell you hilarious stories about the day-to-day workings of a LYS (for you non-knitters, Local Yarn Shop). Now, that just might be a great idea. I'll contemplate this a little further.
